Pub chain Wetherspoon have made another planning application to turn the disused unit at 349 Gloucester Road (next to Betfred & the Co-op) into one of their outlets.
This follows their application last year, which was refused by Council officers on a number of grounds. These included: impact on residential amenity through noise, opening hours, outdoor areas, site management and loss of light to neighbours; interface with the public realm; provision of cycle parking; and climate change mitigation.
Wetherspoon say they have attempted to address the reasons their previous application was refused in this new application.
Your local Labour candidates Eileen Means and Darran McLaughlin, alongside Cllr Tom Brook, are keen to hear residents’ views on the new application. Are the changes sufficient or do you think the application should be refused again? Please let us know! Email us at: BishopstonAshleyDownLabour[at]outlook.com
