Work has started this week on the new play area and access for Ashley Down Green. The work will take place over the next few months, with anticipated completion in mid-October.

It was great to see many people from the community engaged and contributing to the design for the play area, and I think the design looks great. The added access route from Stoney Lane will also make for a safer, more welcoming, and more convenient environment for all to enjoy the Green.

The Friends of Ashley Down Green are an active group that have been formed, and have been doing great work on getting the play area opened. They have a website here: http://ashleydowngreen.co.uk/ and are active on Facebook and Twitter.

I look forward to seeing the work on the play area and path as it progresses, and am sure they will become a valued addition to the Green very soon!
